The True North Approach to Legacy Planning
The True North approach to estate planning, utilizes The Heritage Process™ and is entirely different than the traditional financial and estate planning processes and procedures. Specializing in large family estates and multi-generational legacies, our emphasis at True North Connections remains focused on maintaining the knowledge and appreciation of that founding integrity, that die-hard work-ethic, which always seems to be at the root of every great legacy.
Pride and Purpose
We step in to help family elders re-awaken that sense of pride and purpose in the family legacy...before it disappears: because such legacies are often depleted within only one or two generations after the creation of wealth, we place an important emphasis on younger potential heirs. We engage their passions and interests, their educational skills and needs, their special motivating talents and their "human" and "intellectual" assets, guided by the family vision statement of those before them.
From there, we work closely with family elders to build a sense of integrity. Through an enjoyable series of challenges in programs termed 'The Family Bank, Family Council, and The Charitable Inheritance,' we work with young heirs to build a critical appreciation of the estate-building process, honing a new awareness of the skills and savvy required to preserve the legacy.
Team Building
We build new alliances, bridges of trust and team-building cooperation, which tend to become powerful bonds of understanding amongst each family member. All of which empower the family to act as a tight knit team, rather than a fragmented, tentative alliance of self-interested parties, some of whom might even place the legacy at risk through conflict and dispute at some future date.
In guiding the entire family, we give everyone a role in the building, rather than the depletion, of the family legacy. We instill a sense of pride in participation, where everyone learns to cherish the creation of wealth, as opposed to the consumption or annihilation of the legacy in a generation or two.
All told, new directions discovered through the True North system of family re-invention lead to a stronger, more unified family organization. With that come the assurance of security and pride-of-legacy...typically for generations to come.
What about the money?
We are not focused on the 'money' assets. We're interested in how your heirs position their life priorities. Our emphasis is on passing what made you successful, rather than the money results of that success. We will eventually pass those carefully identified and recorded values to your selected financial professional team. And we vow to ensure that your legal and financial plans reflect your values and vision.
The approach is family first, fortune second, focusing on your values, rather than your valuables. |
